Furniture Made in Cairo, Egypt: Inside Our Workshop

Every Tableiva piece is designed, built and finished by us. Every Tableiva piece is designed, built and finished by us.

Every workshop has an osta, the master craftsman who looks at a plain board and already sees the pattern. Our Osta collection is named after him. A team of seven, in our own workshop Tableiva was founded in 2020. In 2021 we rented our own workshop in Cairo, and today a team of seven designs, builds and finishes every piece there. Because we do all of it ourselves, we know every detail and can check every piece before it reaches your home. The materials we use Plywood (Conter, كونتر): layered boards that stay strong and stable. We use it for our coffee tables, side tables, TV units and many of our buffets. Pine Wood (Mosky, موسكي): a light wood widely used in Egyptian furniture. We use it for our Bayou chests of drawers and several buffets. Lacquered MDF: a smooth board with an even, painted finish, used for our Kohl coffee table. Carved, ribbed and pierced fronts Fronts like those in our Osta, Nabd and Mashrabiya collections are made with the same hands and the same patience. Finishes that keep the grain in view Many of our pieces come in American Walnut, Natural Oak, Smoked Oak or Honey Teak, so the grain stays visible. Want a different size or finish?
